The foundation of trade skills and knowledge in LEARN™’ is access to over 360 occupational skills modules. LEARN™ takes into account student growth and grade progression by purposefully increasing the amount and complexity of hands-on training. As the program developer, LIUNA Training is continually adding new trade areas to ensure senior students are prepared for the available jobs at graduation.

LEARN™ builds accountability and personal development so students understand a career is more than just performing tasks. Each year LEARN™ connects trade skills to life skills to show the importance of communication, financial literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

A key advantage of LEARN™ is partnerships. Students are introduced to LiUNA leadership, apprenticeship and training directors, and local contractors, to gain a thorough understanding of next steps after graduation. Successful senior year students who choose to join LiUNA’s registered apprenticeship program receive job placement support and a clear path to connect them with employment opportunities.

As a dual enrollment program, LEARN™ can provide students with a more informed, focused pathway to college opportunities in the construction and environmental remediation industries. LEARN™ is also designed for students to earn college credit while still in high school, giving them a head start on their higher education, reducing future tuition costs, and enhancing their college and career readiness.
